A winter storm has blanketed the east coast with snow. This morning, in places like Washington, D.C., which is not accustomed to snow many inches deep, people are trying to figure out how to get around. I hope they will find a moment to take in the beauty. Stopped by the Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan, yesterday morning. A wonderful visit on a bright, cool, fall morning.
Robinette’s Orchard, northeast of Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a magnet for families every fall weekend. It used to be a regular event for us to visit the orchard when our children were young. I thought I would stop by today. As usual, the line for the fresh baked donuts, cookies and pies snaked out the door. I resisted the aroma and bypassed the line, buying apples and cider instead. Then I walked around the property to take in a taste of fall.

Seems like business has brought me to Chicago more in the past 4 months than in the previous 4 years. On Wednesday, I got to visit with Stewart and Karen in Hyde Park before my business began yesterday. Last evening I took advantage of the late hours and free admission at the Chicago Institute of Art.
[Updated 9/26/09] ArtPrize officially began on Wednesday, September 23. The city is swarming with art and people enjoying art. Here’s a collection of photographs I have taken. I will add to the collection from time to time between now and October 10, when ArtPrize ends. So come back again.
