This evening it was announced that Brooklyn Artist Ran Ortner was the winner of ArtPrize 2009 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ortner won for his painting “Open Water number 24.” Ortner’s piece was selected in a vote by the public in a competition that featured 1,262 artists.
