I ventured over to North Beach Park on Lake Michigan in Ferrysburg today. In this warm weather, the ice was braking up, assaulted by the waves of the open water. Here is a video of the roiling snow melt and a few photographs.
If it weren’t so beautiful, one could get upset that well into April it is still snowing. But it is so beautiful. (Click on photo for larger image.)
Visited Honey Creek this morning, hoping for a vivid sunrise. Although the sky was clear when I arose at 6:00 a.m., by sunrise (8:16), the clouds had rolled in so there was only a hint of sunshine. After snapping a few photos of the creek, I concentrated on the ice that was forming on the branches and the rocks. They made for lovely abstracts.
