With a land mass of nearly 6 million acres, Denali National Park and Preserve is the size of Massachusetts. “Denali” is Koyukon Athabaskan for “the high one,” the name given by the indiginous people to what white settles named Mount McKinley. At 20,030 feet above sea Denali is the highest peak in North America.

Homer, Alaska
Located on the southern end of the Kenai Penisula, Homer offers breathtaking views across Kachemak Bay. Homer is home to the Pratt Gallery, a lovely museum of culture and art, and many art galleries. It is also home to “The Spit,” a spit of land that juts 5 miles out into the bay. The Spit attracts fishermen and tourists. It also attracts Bald Eagles.
Seward and Kenai Fjords National Park
Seward is on the east side of the Kenai Peninsula on Resurrection Bay. Seward is a charming little town with a population of about 2,700. It is the historic starting point for the Iditarod Race. It is also the gate way to the beautiful Kenai Fjords National Park.
